Shelly Childress-Callender

Hello my name is Deja, on Tuesday 12/27/2022, my sister Kayla and I suddenly lost our beloved mother, Shelly Childress-Callender.

Born in 1968, our mother was a bright light to this world from the beginning. She was a caring individual, an amazing cook, a wonderful singer and could charm anyone with her great big beautiful smile. Anyone who knew our mom Shelly, knew that she loved to give and to serve and had found her life’s calling, when she became a surgical technician. She loved that career so much, as it gave her the capacity to care for others full time; as well as, the ability to share her medical knowledge with loved ones. If the opportunity arose, our mother would “school” you for hours and educate you on medical terminology and all sorts of technical jargon associated with her job.

Without a doubt, she loved the Lord and will be remembered for her kindness. While we are all still left heartbroken and mourn the loss of this beautiful soul, our mother was a believer in Christ and we know at the young age of 54, Shelly Childress-Callender is in a better place with eternal peace.

However, this loss was very unexpected. Which leads us to provide a platform for those who wish to support the family.

Therefore, we pray this reaches those who can afford to give discretely or liberally according to their abilities. Any donations given will go directly toward funeral expenses and other associated costs.
