Shelly Carter’s Assistance Fund

Hi, my name is Jackie Carter.I’m fundraising for my sister-in-law Michelle “Shelly” Carter (my brother Bill’s wife). On January 15, 2023, at the age of only 49, Shelly suffered a life-changing hemorrhagic stroke and was rushed to the hospital and ultimately transferred to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. Although she remains in the intensive care unit, Shelly’s condition is slowly improving. Hopefully she will soon be able to be transferred to a therapy and rehabilitation unit where she will be challenged with an extremely lengthy period of recovery with unknown extent of further improvements.

Shelly is the breadwinner of the family which includes her retired husband, 13-year-old daughter and 10-year-old adopted special-needs son. Shelly recently changed jobs which has resulted in loss of income due to not having any accrued time off as well as having extremely limited benefits supporting the fiscal impact of this medical emergency. Close relatives are assisting with immediate financial support but funds are needed to assist in Shelly’s family’s ability to pay monthly bills, other daily living expenses, and unknown medical expenses.

Shelly is a critical care nurse and has served her community for most of her adult life. She has dedicated her career to the medical industry in support of others through her nursing career. Shelly and her family are now in need of assistance. I am requesting donations to assist the family through this critical and lengthy time of need.
