Shelley was first diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer in September of 2015 at the young age of 42. Doctors were certain she would not survive.
Despite her grim prognosis, Shelley has been relentless fighting cancer since then. Her optimism, family support, and love of her children (Alysha & Chelsea), her grandchildren (Everley & Easton), and her loving husband Graham, she has kept her spirts high and her fight strong!
Shelley is now 48 years old and her spirit has not waivered. Over the last six years, she has endured 5 different rounds of chemotherapy and was successfully in remission 4 times. Unfortunately, the window between remission and re-diagnoses is getting shorter, and Shelley is currently on her last possible round of Chemotherapy.
Shelley has been a fighter, battling through both a double mastectomy and a hysterectomy in order to lessen her chances of re-diagnosis. Due to the granular cancer cells in her stomach, and the inoperable tumor located directly below her spleen that wont shrink, the Marshall family is asking you for support.
Through research and doctor's recommendation, a DNA testing through Foundation One CDX was recommended to her. This DNA testing will be able to sequence 300 of Shelley's genomes, including her tumor in order to determine why despite 5 rounds of different chemotherapy options, the cancer cells are unresponsive.
Shelley has had less than 6 months of remission time in the last 6 years between chemotherapy treatments, and deserves peace of mind.
With your donation, Shelley will be able to have her genomes sequenced in order to find other treatments that could put Shelley in remission for longer periods of times, to allow her to live her life to the fullest.
