Hello, my name is Rosa Montana and I am raising funds for my dear friend, Shelley Giard, as she begins her battle with breast cancer, specifically- invasive ductal carcinoma E+, PR-, HER2+. She was diagnosed on June 8, 2023, after two weeks of testing.

Shelley has no medical insurance. As a self-employed solo mom, she has not been able to afford the exuberant cost of independent medical care. She lives a very healthy lifestyle as a preventative but pays all her medical care out of pocket. She is trying to get financial assistance, but all the applications have an approval process. She has been unable to get an appointment to be seen by an oncologist or surgeon due to the no insurance roadblock.

A treatment plan has not been decided yet since she is not established with a doctor yet, she found this lump herself in March of this year and was just able to get all the necessary testing to get this diagnosis. As this journey begins, outside of medical expenses that will pile up, her everyday expenses will also accumulate- rent, groceries, utilities, insurance, etc. These all average out to be around $5000 a month. I am requesting your assistance- any amount that you can donate to help her and her family get through this difficult time. Shelley requests your prayers at this time because she knows: "With God, all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26).

As many of you know, Shelley is talented beyond measure- her abilities range from restoring old furniture, styling, and coloring hair, baking a tasty dessert, motivational speaker, or just professional organizer! She is one of the strongest, most talented, giving persons I have ever known. She is always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone and lend an ear to listen. It is her intense faith in our Lord and Savior, however, that is her most admirable attribute. Shelley knows "God has this." No matter what, her faith in Him is NEVER shaken. She believes this too will be used as a testimony to His infinite goodness- she knows He will bring her through this!

Shelley is a self-employed solo mom to four amazing children, Cierra & Baleigh who are already grown and living on their own, and the two of who are still at home-her daughter Abrielle who is 13, has Down syndrome and Autism, and her teenage son Zane who is 14. She also has two beautiful grandsons, Gabriel and Kaiden.
