In Loving Memory of Shelley Carlson

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Shelley Carlson, beloved wife of Eric Carlson. Shelley brought light, warmth, and kindness into the lives of everyone who knew her. At just 50 years old, her time with us was far too short, but her impact will be felt forever.

Shelley and Eric celebrated 31 years of marriage this past July—a beautiful journey built on deep love and unwavering devotion. A devout Christian, Shelley lived a life of compassion and service. She was always the first to offer a helping hand, and her generosity of spirit touched countless lives.

Born with a love for cooking, arts and crafts, and the serenity of the ocean, Shelley found joy in life’s simple pleasures. In 2007, she and Eric made the selfless decision to leave their home in Alaska and return to Texas to care for her aging grandparents. She lovingly dedicated herself to their care until their passing—an example of her immense heart and strength.

Though Shelley and Eric were unable to have children of their own, her love for children knew no bounds. She gave freely of herself, always ready to help, nurture, and brighten the lives of the little ones around her.

Just six weeks before her passing, Shelley was diagnosed with gallbladder and liver cancer. She endured 21 days at MD Anderson undergoing extensive tests and surgeries with courage and grace. Despite the relentless progression of the illness, Shelley remained hopeful and strong.
