Shelley Arbaugh with medical expenses

Hi, I'm Natalie Arbaugh. In October, my mom, Shelley Arbaugh, found out she had uterine cancer. I will be the one taking care of her. Shelley needs a total hysterectomy, which they could not perform in October due to high blood sugar levels (which she worked extremely hard to lower!). This adds even more financial strain with a new set of insurance deductibles for this surgery and follow-up care.

Thankfully the doctors caught it early, so hopefully she will not need radiation treatments. She will not know until test results are in several weeks after surgery. She's already had two D&C procedures, scans, and lots of bloodwork, so hopefully this is the last major hurdle!

If you know my mom at all, she has faced this unexpected diagnosis (and all of the challenges life has thrown her way) with a positive attitude and smile on her face. She's an amazing mother, teacher, coworker, friend, etc. and is always helping others around her. I am already out of sick days for the school year, so I have to go without pay every time I take off work for her doctor appointments or if I am sick. Shelley will be off of work for an estimated 8 weeks. Money is tight to begin with.
