Shelley And John's Epic Rescue Adventure for Mercy-Dog!

Donation protected
Hello Friends of Shelley, John and the Four-Footers. I'm Brooke and I'm asking for everyone to help with the costs of getting this lovely dog Mercy back to being an actual dog! Shelley and John have helped me save some skele-kitties a few months ago, and now they got gifted a new bag of bones from the universe! Guardian angels get no breaks.

I know they don't ask for help because it's so damn awkward! But they really need some help because this lovely creature is is financially destabilizing for just regular folk to handle on their own. Anything raised goes straight to them, I'm just typing it all up.

The short story: A neighbor found this starving pup disoriented and wandering down their street. They knew Shelly would say yes. Shelly and her partner John wrapped him in a towel, and got him safe. He absolutely stunk from the conditions he was being kept in. A total horror show. Mercy had to be hospitalized for dehydration, etc.

Mercy is a 9 month old Cane Corso. He should be 80 lbs by now. When he came into their lives he was a measly 21 lbs. Someone caused this, there is a court case. Beyond words, so I won't try.

My best guess from having helped other dogs in similar conditions is minimum 2k, but 3 would be safer. The hospital bill is going to be a bit, there's all the meds and a few vet visits already. He's needing a neuter and his teeth are going to cost a pretty penny. He's going to be someone's absolute favorite person someday, we just have to get him there.

It's been 2 weeks. Mercy is now snoozing peacefully in Shelly's arms when not romping around with his dog friends and hiding from the scary cat. The depleted pads on his feet are getting to look rounder, like real dog feet and not chicken claws. His ribs look slightly less breath-taking. When I went to visit, he came to me to say a tentative hi, gave me a lick, and then promptly passed back out on Shelly's lap.

Some of Mercy's brothers didn't make it, but this dog absolutely will because he has Shelly and John, Cedar and Pepere, and he has us. Rescue is not a solo-operation, it takes friends, unshakable optimism and a lot of trips to the vet! Tiny donations add up, big donations feel great when you can swing it. And shares are totally free. Please support our friends as they are supporting this one little wonderful pup!
