Sheldon's Mom Verdon Wyngard
I am writing this in my voice for Sheldon as he is very distraught as you can imagine. As some of you may already know, Sheldon's mom Verdon has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. In addition, his dad Nigel had to recently resign from his job due to the many doctor appointments and the immediate need for his amazing and dedicated care of Verdon. If you are lucky enough to know Verdon (I call her my Zimmom), then you know what a kind, giving, caring, selfless, thoughtful and amazing person she is. If you only know Sheldon, you now know why he is so amazing too (he won't be happy that I wrote that).
Sheldon and I are asking for your help. This is a hard thing for Sheldon and his proud family to do. But that is being put aside for Verdon's sake. Between medical bills, household bills plus loss of income, the need is immediate and great.
Some heartfelt thank you's for those that have already contributed in some way, both financially and/or emotionally:
THANK YOU to Nigel, Brennan, Faith, Vanny, Nothando and Brent who are there every day and every night with Verdon, selflessly taking care of her, doing their best while they are also suffering and hurting.
THANK YOU to Verdon's sister and brother, Nerissa and Cravat, and all of her extended family, who love her with everything that they have, for doing everything they can, from so far away.
THANK YOU to all of the friends and families in Zimbabwe (and all around the world), that have raised money toward Verdon's treatments and care. For your well wishes and your support. For the meals you have prepared, the texts you have sent, the words of encouragement. Kate and everyone at Body & Soul for your prayer dedications, and more, for Verdon and her family. There are so many of you that it would be impossible to name all of you here. We are SO GRATEFUL TO YOU. And to all of you that we don't personally know - THANK YOU for being there for her and her family.
THANK YOU to Sheldon's workmates who have rallied together and raised enough money to send Sheldon and his 2 children, Ethan and Shannon home to be with his mom. There really are no words to express how truly grateful he is (crying as I write this). They are leaving in a few days.
THANK YOU to EVERYONE for all of your prayers and well wishes for my Zimmom, and her family.
Our gratitude is deep and our hearts full.
