As many of you are aware, Sheldon Edwards, our former assistant starter and caddie for over 25 years, suffered a stroke in early June during surgery to remove a brain tumor discovered just days before.
While Sheldon was very fortunate the tumor was benign, the stroke has left him with significant physical limitations. After a few weeks of inpatient rehabilitation, he is now doing outpatient physical and occupational therapy that will continue for at least the next 3-4 months as he strives to regain his normal sight and greater mobility.
The timing was most unfortunate, as Sheldon had passed the Series 7 exam last year and was just getting started as a securities representative after he spent last summer working at the Club. While Sheldon is still employed by the securities firm, it is unknown when he will be able to go back to work and how long the firm will continue to employ him.
Sheldon’s employment insurance has covered most of his very substantial
medical costs, but there are in-network and out-of-network deductibles/maximums he must pay, and his coverage has limits on outpatient therapy sessions.
Many Club members and employees have asked how they can help Sheldon. If you wish to do so, we have established this GoFundMe. If you prefer to send Sheldon a check, his address is:

Sheldon asked us to convey how much he appreciates the wonderful concern and encouragement the entire Atlantic family has provided since he became ill. He has so enjoyed seeing many of you at the Club the last few weekends.
Thank you for your consideration.
