On August 22 2025, my little sister's life was changed overnight. After a sudden medical crisis, she was rushed to the ER by ambulance, and then the ICU, where doctors discovered she had a pulmonary embolism and four dangerous blood clots. Two in the lungs, one in her heart, and one in her leg. She spent two days in intensive care and another two days in the hospital fighting for her life.

We are BEYOND grateful that she pulled through, Shelby is a tough cookie! Those 4 days in the hospital were so hard. If you know Shelby, you know she has a beautiful soul. She is recovering, but the road ahead is still overwhelming. She does not currently have health insurance, and her hospital bills are already exceeding $100,000, and continuing to grow daily.

My sister is spunky, strong, resilient, and so loved by everyone who knows her. This experience has been a terrifying reminder of how fragile life can be, but also of how powerful the support from family, friends and community can be.
