Our hearts are broken for the Grutchfield and Edward families. Kim, our dear friend and coworker, lost her precious grandchild, Shelby Wilder Edward, so suddenly the morning of August 8th at just four months old. Their story is below. If you are able to give, please do so, or share some kind words. Please respect the privacy of the family at this time while they grieve this tremendous loss.

"We can’t even imagine in a million years having to do this. In the early hours of August 8th, God called our angel, baby Shelby, home during his sleep. Our baby boy is so deeply loved and we want to thank everyone that has showered him with love from the moment we knew he was there. Our hearts are completely shattered and words cannot convey the pain, sorrow, and emptiness we are feeling. Our baby boy is so extremely sweet, happy, curious, and smart, there are a million more things to say. He is the light of our lives, our breath, our whole world. Please keep our sweet boy in your thoughts and prayers tomorrow as we have the second hardest day of our lives as we lay our precious boy to rest.

Hug your babies a little tighter tonight

We appreciate thoughts and prayers, please no texts or phone calls, we can’t even think right now and we will reach out when we are ready ❤️

We would like to thank the Fort Myers Shores Fire Department C shift, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, and Lee Memorial Emergency Department staff for trying everything they could for our sweet baby boy ❤️
