Hi, my name is DeLana and I am fundraising for Shelby Hamilton. I have been a friend of Shelbys other grandmother Debe Vallier since we were teenagers. As some of you know by now Shelby was in a horrific motorcycle wreck with her grandmother Pam Dunlap. Pam is deceased and Shelby is currently at Memorial Herman Children's Hospital in Houston, Texas in the PICU. The driver of the truck that hit them fell asleep at the wheel, crossed over into their lane and hit them head on, according to the preliminary investigation. Shelby has numerous injuries... two broken femurs, lacerated liver and spleen, broke right jaw, broken right humerus, shattered pelvis, cracked ribs, ruptured bladder, broken bones in foot, brain sheer injury ( effects not yet known), severe perineal lacerations. She is currently heavily sedated and on a ventilator. She has already had 3 surgeries totaling over 20 hours and there are many more to come.

I am starting this in hopes of helping Debe Vallier, Don Dunlap, and Shelby. Shelby will be in the hospital for an extended period of time as there are going to be many out of pocket expenses that will be incurred, Parking, meals, entertainment for Shelby ... movies, books, coloring, drawing, music, etc.

Shelby will have extensive mental and physical therapy in the coming months.

We are asking that no flowers or gifts be sent this at this time. Due to her being in the PICU and sedated she cannot enjoy anything at this time.

All donations will go to Shelby and her grandparents to help with the expenses that are going to come in the many days to come. Debe and Don will undoubtedly need to take time off work.
