We woke up in the morning after Kinzlee was having asthma problems all night and was with her asthma medicine wasn’t getting any better. About 7am she threw up and got really bad. We rushed her to the hospital.
They got her color back and oxygen levels up. They tested her for the flu, Covid, and rsvp. Everything was negative.
They needed to transfer her to a children’s hospital in Portland but with the weather and closed roads they couldn’t get her there. She struggled a lot breathing on her own and if without oxygen she dropped as low as 57 (shouldn’t be below 95) the doctor sedated and incubated her. This was around 9am and they were breathing for her by hand until she got hooked up to head to Corvallis to catch a plane to Aurora then a helicopter to Randall Children’s. She has been on a ventilator since. Once in Corvallis ready to get on the plane, they sent one for an adult not a child so it wasn’t safe to travel.
Kinzlee and Shelby waited in Corvallis for Randall Panda team came in their ambulance to take them to Randall. They left around 430pm. Once we got to Randall the doctor thought she needed possible ECMO and they couldn’t help because they were maxed. Dorenbeckers had a spot so we were moved there.
Today we found out Kinzlee has Rhinovirus. On her stomach had a lot of secretion coming out which was a good thing, that stuff needs to get out. Her doctors tried to decrease her medication but we had to just had to increase.
Many people have asked how they can help for unforeseen expenses and missed work from this.
We’re asking for prayers/good thoughts for them through this. Kinzlee is a fighter and she has everyone she’s seen has been calling and asking about her.
