On September 27 I suffered cardiogenic shock as the result of heart surgery. I spent almost 8 weeks in the hospital, and just this week was transferred to a rehabilitation facility. I will spend the next several weeks learning to retrain my lower extremity muscles, regaining strength and mobility, in order that I can transition to home....just don't know how long it will take. It is an ever-evolving "new normal" and I will require in-home skilled nursing care, as well as continue with physical therapy. Long road ahead. And an expensive one. I will need to pay for medication, medical equipment, nursing care, physical therapy sessions, health and hygiene supplies and whatever else my health insurance doesn't cover. The post office will need a forklift to deliver my hospital bills!

I appreciate all the inquiries, prayers and good vibes you have thus far sent my way. I just have not been physically or mentally able to respond to most of you. Hope I didn't offend anyone with my shortened responses when I was able to do so.
