It’s something that only happens to others — not you.
It’s everyone’s worst nightmare.
The woman I love has spent her entire life doing things right. Working hard. Keeping her faith. Being responsible. No smoking. No drugs. No heavy drinking. Compassionate and loving almost to a fault.
And then the doctor says those words.
Breast cancer. Invasive ductal carcinoma.
Those words stole her breath and tried to stop her heart. I watched her beautiful face fall, the light in her eyes dim.
Please God, not this.
Sheila has always been a source of strength and wisdom to those around her. People have looked to her for guidance, for comfort, for an example of how to survive life’s hardest trials.
My name is Tommy. I met this amazing woman three years ago and have been in love with her for two. Like everyone who meets her, I immediately saw her strength and resolve as clearly as I saw her beauty. I also learned that her life has already been marked by deep hardship.
Years ago, a devastating car accident left her with a broken spine and paralysis. Through faith, grit, and determination, she fought back and regained mobility. Since then, it has been one serious diagnosis after another — essential thrombocytosis, lupus, leaking heart valves, chronic pain from spinal nerve damage.
And the one diagnosis she prayed she would never hear became reality. Still, Sheila continues to put others first, often going out of her way to help those in need, even when it costs her more pain.
Your support goes directly toward her medical expenses and living costs, which are quickly growing from thousands into tens of thousands of dollars as treatments, imaging, and care continue. I have been by her side, doing everything I can physically, spiritually, and financially — and I will not leave her side.
Our faith is strong, and we believe God is bigger than any illness and any cancer.
Sheila has spent her life blessing others, and now, in this waking nightmare, we humbly ask for help. Every prayer and every donation matters, no matter the amount.
