Sheila Burstein has always been extraordinary and the past 18 months are testimony to her resilience. In May 2023, she was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia and began a chemo regimen to treat it. Leukemia is blood cancer and there is no "staging" or levels. Although she's lost a lot of weight, she's kept up the chemo for CML.
Her "extraordinary" kicked in last November when she was diagnosed with a Stage 3 pancreatic tumor. Her doc said he's not had a patient with two types of non-metastasized cancer.
A CT scan or MRI, even with her insurance, presents a co-pay of $1500! Her new chemo treatments are $200 each, every other week. She's maintained good spirits but she worries about the medical debt.
Financial support would ease her concerns and allow her to pay down the debt. If you're able, please consider helping our dear friend Sheila with a donation.
