Sheila and Tina Memorial Fundraiser

As you all may know by now we lost Sheila to a long and hard fought battle with cancer this week. Sheila lost her mother last April and we were never able to do a proper burial service for her at the time due to Sheila battling her own health issues.

My name is Alex and I worked and lived with these two beautiful souls for almost two decades. I have taken it upon myself to make sure they get a proper send off as they helped so many people throughout the years, myself included. I initially wasn't going to go the crowdfunding route but given my present financial situation I am reaching out to friends and the musical community for help. I know everyone is tightening their belts this season and that the economy is bad (throw in a looming trade war on top of it) but even small contributions help, and if you can't donate, that's cool as well. All of your kind words have really given me heart in the past few days, and I will never forget that. Anyways, donations would contribute to three things:

a) The cost of the funeral which will help reunite Sheila and her mother with their family at Riverside cemetery. I was informed that O.D.S.P. cannot cover the cost of Sheila's funeral due to me being the executor of the estate.

b) The upfront cost of a proper celebration of life which I have not decided upon a date for yet, which will be of modest cost but will still be an upfront cost.

c) Cost of living expenses as I go into a rough transitional period. Unfortunately the economics of losing loved ones is real. I still have to keep the rent going and the lights on. Because I only have a slightly above minimum wage job and Sheila was on O.D.S.P. There are no savings or life insurance.

Anyways, I will eternally be grateful to anyone who can contribute. I am grateful for everyone anyways regardless of whether you donate or not, and you could even contribute to your favourite cancer charity of choice if you feel more comfortable with that. In Sheila's case though I would recommend more funds for ovarian cancer research / awareness because it is known as the silent killer and is a poorly funded cancer compared to other cancers surrounding female reproductive health.
