Sheila and Gabriel Need Your Support

Hi there,

My name is Sheila. I would never have seen myself writing this asking for help because I’m usually the type of person who deals with everything on her own. Asking for help or taking any help from anyone is a lot for me to take or ask.

My fiancé and I, on March 26 at around 3 a.m., were driving back to New York from my best friend's wedding that happened over the weekend in Palm Springs. We had such a beautiful time celebrating and spending time with friends and family. But unfortunately, all was too good to be true. We ended up getting stranded in the state of Ohio because we got involved in a terrible car accident that could have ended up with both my dogs, my fiancé, and me dead. Everything happened so quickly. If it wasn’t for the quick actions of this gentleman who pulled over to get me and my dog Kelly out of the car that was facing oncoming traffic, or my fiancé gaining consciousness and telling me to get out of the car now, limping and carrying our other dog Nala, we all could have gotten hit by what would be a semi-truck that struck the car head-on about 2-3 minutes from all of us getting out of the car at about 70 mph.

We are all so very grateful and very lucky to be alive and out of the crash with very minor injuries. My fiancé only has a double fracture that will require him to miss work for up to 2-6 months. I’m mainly bruised from my seat belt with other bruises around my body. My dogs Kelly and Nala are both okay and alive, but our 6-year-old girl Nala did get a little burn mark on her tummy from the impact. I still would like to take them to the vet to get checked out, but we are very tight with money at this moment. With everything that we have to deal with from this point on, like having to miss out on work and having bills to pay to taking care of medical expenses, we are barely managing at this moment to take care of everything we have to.

All I’m asking is that if you could help us get back on our feet. Anything would help from sharing or even giving the smallest amount for us to take care of our dog’s medical bills and our other necessities to get us by as of right now. I would never ask for help if I wasn’t in such a tough situation where I’m left feeling helpless. We are so very grateful for everyone that has called us and helped us since the incident happened. God was there with us, and I thank Him for getting us out of there alive. I know that this is a second chance at living He has given us. I know He still has a purpose for all four of us.

Specifically, a huge, huge thank you to the kind man who pulled me out of the car while I was barely gaining consciousness. Risking your life to save us, I could never thank you enough. May God bless you.
