My Name is Shakil Khan. I am setting this GoFundMe Page for our beloved Sheikh Umar, also known as Kenton Gibbons Ismaeel Umar and Van Mack.
Most of you will know Sheikh Umar and be aware of the Hikmah and Karamat held by Them.
For many years Sheikh Umar has travelled to many places in this country and across the world, simply to carry out duties of serving Allah Azzawajal. Each person that they meet is remembered forever in their duas. Even those that the Sheikh have not met are remembered; like Doctors, Nurses, Firefighters, Carers, Leaders, the Royals, Shuyookh and Allah’s entire creation is remembered constantly by Sheikh Umar.
Today, it is our turn to pay back some of what Sheikh Umar has given to us. We are privileged and blessed by Allah to be put into this position. Alhumdulillah.
Sheikh Umar was taken ill and admitted to Charing Cross Hospital just over four weeks ago. Alhumdulillah, all praise be to Allah, Who engaged all the doctors and nurses and carers who have been taking care of Sheikh Umar so far. May Allah bless them all. Ameen.
When Sheikh Umar was admitted, they were unable to stand or even lift themselves up. A mass was discovered on the bottom of the spine. This pressed onto the spinal cord and thus rendering Sheikh Umar unable to stand and walk. Sheikh was immediately given Radio Therapy to reduce the mass, followed by other treatment. Alhumdulillah, with Allah’s mercy there were very good signs of improvement.
Nonetheless, much more is needed. The hospital has made the decision not to pursue any of the more aggressive treatments like Chemotherapy, due to Sheikh’s age. Whilst various alternative treatments are available, the NHS Oncology team have decided not to provide any of these. Sheikh also needs regular Physiotherapy, strict Diet Management and Personal Care. The hospital cannot provide this and are pressing to have the bed released for other patients. We pushed the Occupational Therapist team and doctors at the hospital to refer Sheikh Umar to a proper nursing home where 24-hour care is available as the condition of Sheikh’s flat is uninhabitable, plus Sheikh needs round the clock care. We identified a suitable Nursing Home within the Hammersmith and Fulham Borough. It is a requirement for it to be within the Borough, otherwise we lose the NHS funding.
Unfortunately, we lost the place that was available as the hospital deemed it more suitable for a different patient. Without getting into the politics of it, we are waiting for the availability of another place and will begin to look at private places also.
There is now very little that can be done, for Sheikh Umar, at the hospital. Even the use of a wheelchair is limited. The current overwhelming situation of the NHS is forcing us to act quickly and obtain private care.
We must make every effort to take Sheikh Umar into a Nursing Facility as soon as possible, where the appropriate care and treatment can be given. In addition, we need to employ a specialist living in carer, who will assist Sheikh Umar with all personal care, Including administering medicine, preparing the right meals, physio therapy, bathing etc.
We also need to obtain specialist equipment which assists in moving Sheikh Umar from the bed into a chair.

Please, also increase your duas for Sheikh Umar. We need to raise our hands up high and request Allah to grant Sheikh Umar full recovery and strength and bring them back amongst our communities. We need Sheikh Umar to be amongst our children and be the example for them and for us all. We are facing terrible times. Unimaginable tribulations are about to befall upon us. Let us ALL unite in this endeavour and please Allah.

Our intention is to provide Sheikh Umar a comfortable and Inclusive life throughout this recovery and healing period. In Sha Allah, with Allah's blessings and mercy, we want to take Sheikh Umar around to the various Masjid's, Circles, functions and parks that Sheikh has always liked. To do this we will need volunteers to drive Sheikh Umar to wherever they need to go. If we do this together taking turns, it will allow everyone to reap the blessings equally.
