Sheffield 10k for Arts Emergency
Ey up, I'm going for a run.
On the 29th of September I'm running the Sheffield 10k (which is basically 100000k as its all massive hills) and I'm raising money for the incredible Arts Emergency. Growing up knowing that I wanted to be an actor, I sometimes felt a bit lost in finding my way/how to go about it. All I had was GCSE/A-Level Drama, which don't get me wrong was some of the best times of my youth, but there wasn't many opportunities for young working class kids like myself to get involved/learn about the industry (let alone hearing a voice who was working in said industry giving me priceless advice and guidance). And that's why Arts Emergency is so important, they help young working class artists break into their chosen industry. Be it musicians, actors, writers, artists etc, Arts Emergency gives priceless support to our next generation of artists. The charity provides 16-18 year olds with a trained mentor working in their field of interest and a supportive community of over 7,000 cultural professionals that young people can draw on for connections and advice up until the age of 25.
As the arts becomes more and more difficult for those from a working class background to break into, charities doing sensational work like Arts Emergency need our support more than ever so that we can give our next generation a fairer chance in the arts.
Here is the link to their website so you can learn even more about the exceptional work they do: https://www.arts-emergency.org/about-us/our-vision
Honestly, thank you so much for taking the time to read my fundraiser and I really do appreciate every one of you for even clicking the link, never mind sharing and donating.
Much appreciated, thank you thank you
