Sheena Sukhai, LMSW, has worked to serve communities in the Hudson Valley through her work and volunteerism for 15+ years. Now it’s our turn to help Sheena. After a severe kidney infection put her into the hospital in October 2023, Sheena had to be sent to a hospital in New York City to get emergency surgery to remove the infected kidney. There were complications during the surgery that led to the procedure being more invasive than planned and now Sheena has a long road of recovery ahead of her, including PT and OT as well as continued healing while on extended medical leave from her dedicated work at Dr. Michele Winchester-Vega & Associates. This gofundme will allow us to keep her medical costs and health insurance covered while she is on leave from work, as well as help her mom, Geeta, with the costs of travel and care for Sheena as she recovers from this daunting ordeal.
