Support for Shed Sessions

Hi, I'm Warren the host for Shed Sessions.

We record stripped back/acoustic sessions for grassroots music in Oxford and sometimes further afield. These recordings which include 4/5 songs and conversation are recorded in my shed at home in Oxford and are shared via the Shed Sessions podcast episodes and social media. Our team includes audio technicians (Ian and Stefano), photographers/videographers (Andy and Ian H) and me.

This D.I.Y platform is provided to artists free of charge and none of the team are paid for their work. We are not monetised in any way. We do it for the love of music and to be involved in the local music scene. We are proud of the contribution we make to our communities via Shed Sessions.

We recorded our first session in June 2022. We have produced 37 sessions to date. Shed Sessions evolved from the "What's In Your Shed?" podcast which I started in April 2020 with stories about and derived from objects we treasure. In total there are now 131 episodes under the Shed Sessions podcast.

The sessions have grown and we are doing our best to accommodate different set ups with more instruments and recording options. We are very excited about the growing audience for these sessions and are looking at ways of allowing Shed Sessions to evolve and reach more artists. A way of achieving this is to move the sessions to a new home away from the shed. We have found spaces where the shed concept can thrive and offer bands and our team the opportunity to continue providing the best experiences for artists.

We may need to cover venue hire fees and we want the sessions to remain free for the bands who experience daily and growing obstacles to their creative passions. It too is a good time to purchase essential audio equipment needed to run the sessions efficiently in the new spaces.

We are excited for Shed Sessions to grow and any contribution you can make will help this project thrive. It will help raise the profile of the platform which will directly benefit past, current and future acts. It too will bring the sessions closer to the communities who continue to support us.

Thank you for reading this and for your support.

Best wishes

Warren
