Hello,

My name is Cat. I live in the area of Smethwick and I find it impossible to ignore local requests asking for help with sick, injured or stray animals.

Over the past few years I have picked up injured birds, squirrels, rabbits and stray cats and kittens. These have always been emergency situations where no one else can help and the animal needs to be rescued or else it will suffer in poor weather, or be eaten by predators.

This means the animals usually end up spending at least one night in my bathroom, where it is warm and sheltered, but really this is not ideal. Also, I now find myself in a situation dealing with a number of stray kittens being born from un-neutered feral cats. During the very long process of trying to arrange these cats to be neutered, they have now had another litter of kittens.

I would like to have a proper place to keep the kittens and other animals in future, where they have enough space in a quiet area to stay safe while I try and try and find homes, or places at wildlife rescues.

So I am asking if anyone can kindly donate for me and my husband to buy a shed which we can turn into a warm, comfortable shelter for this purpose. We just can't afford to do this on our income, but desperately want to help vulnerable animals.
