SheCan is a nonprofit resource center for teen parents in Santa Rosa, California. SheCan is in its initial building stages.
SheCan will offer teen parents support and referral services. The long term goal is to empower teen parents reach their personal and educational goals while strengthening their relationships with their children and families.
SheCan will be offering programs focused on education and career planning, parenting and relationships, and independent living skills workshops.
Our goal is to create a safe place for these teens to grow not only into young adults, but into the parents they want to be.
Although teen birth rates have decreased nationwide, Santa Rosa has the highest rate of teen births in Sonoma County – three times the average of the county.
We will work to empower these young women to succeed in providing for their children while not giving up on their own dreams, reminding them that SHE CAN be strong. SHE CAN suceeed. And SHE CAN accomplish anything.
The goal is to have SheCan up and running by the summer of 2017.
Thank you for your support!
