In 2006, the Sugiharto family found out the devastating news that Lina was diagnosed with permanent brain cancer. A wife, mother of three, and now grandmother to a two-year-old - Lina has gone through two major brain surgeries, numerous visits to the hospital, and is still receiving repetitive chemotherapy treatments since then. As of mid September 2016, a MRI has indicated a hemangioblastoma tumor in her upper back that will need to be removed immediately through surgery. In an effort to bring relief to her family’s growing medical situation, we are kindly asking friends and family to chip in whatever they can to show their love and support.

A little bit about Lina:

Lina started her American dream in 1999 with her husband and three children migrating from Indonesia.  Leaving all of her relatives and friends behind, she was determined to provide a better life for her kids in Texas. Her fierce determination and undeniable work ethic led her to be an admirable contributor in her community and Lakewood Church.

Lina was actually recovering from her second brain surgery the day her daughter, Melissa went into labor with Jaxon (pictured below). Though being in adjacent hospitals to one another, it was still too far for an immediate visit to see her first grandchild in person. Her first time meeting her grandson was through facetime...these moments are just too precious.
Always brings a smile when being able to see her bubbly grandson!!

Family is the most imporant to her and here is one happy crew!
