To the young girl in the hoodie who abandoned Callie

At 12:30 a.m. this morning, you tied your sweet old dog, Callie, to a potted plant outside of Beach Dog and told her to “stay put.” You walked away, got into your car without looking back, and drove off. Shame on you.

Callie broke free from that plant and spent the night pacing, looking for you to return. When you didn’t, she sat outside our front door confused, scared, and patiently waiting for six long hours until my staff arrived at 6:00 a.m.

She is such a good girl. Even after you abandoned her, she waited faithfully for you. Dogs don’t deserve this. Callie didn’t deserve this.

First thing this morning, Beach Dog took Callie straight to the vet. She received all of her vaccines, her fecal test came back negative, and she is heartworm negative. She is already spayed and is scheduled for a dental this afternoon. We also learned she has congenital elbow dysplasia, which has caused her a great deal of pain but now she is finally getting the care and comfort she deserves.

After her vet visit, Callie enjoyed a spa day, she’s clean, comfortable, and ready to start fresh. Despite everything she has endured, she remains gentle, calm, and full of love. She is good with other dogs, doesn’t bark, and appears to be house trained.
