"She Loves Me" from A Place For Us Productions!

After a few years of isolation and the current domination of screens, live theater performances are incredibly important. Being fully present with a group of tangible, living, breathing people is necessary to art and the human spirit, reminding us to see from different perspectives, and that we are not alone.

A Place for Us Productions is about bringing quality theatre to Kansas City, providing opportunities to actors across the spectrum of race, gender, and disability. We are proud to announce our very first show, the 1962 musical She Loves Me, presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International! If you like quality theatre, we ask for your support.

Written by the creative geniuses behind the iconic musical Fiddler on the Roof, She Loves Me is the story of two co-workers in a parfumerie store in 1930's Budapest who can barely stand each other, not realizing they are falling in love as anonymous correspondents through their letters! (Probably reminds you of You’ve Got Mail starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, because that film is an adaption of this story!)

We invite you to be a “Founder” because without your help and support we wouldn't be able to tell the stories that bring us humans together. You are as much a part of the founding of A Place For Us Productions as we are, and we need your help to be able to get this theatre and show off the ground.

The good news is we have a venue! We're so excited to partner with City House in Independence, MO who shares our vision of creating spaces for artistic and creative endeavors. The show will be directed by Aaron Stokes, whose past work on It's a Wonderful Life: The Musical and Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka was highly successful in the local community theatre scene, and She Loves Me is going to be everything you expect from his productions.
