My name is Andrea Flores, and I’m asking for your help to save my mom’s life.
My mom is not just a patient. She is the heart of our family — a woman who, for more than 27 years, has given everything to her children, her husband, and everyone around her. She is the kind of person who always puts others before herself.
In October 2024, our world changed overnight.
She was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme, one of the most aggressive forms of brain cancer.
We were devastated.
But she wasn’t.
She looked at her MRI and said something we will never forget:
“This paper is not me. I am not a statistic. I will overcome this.”
And she proved it.
Within weeks, her condition worsened — she lost mobility on the left side of her body and went from being fully independent to depending on us for everything.
In November 2024, she underwent emergency brain surgery, during which doctors removed five tumors.
Because of where we live, we did not have access to the specialized medical care she urgently needed. We had to travel to Colombia so she could receive treatment from a more experienced medical team.
This meant that every surgery, treatment, and trip has been paid entirely out of pocket — something that has been incredibly expensive and overwhelming for our family.
After that, she faced months of radiation and chemotherapy.
And then… something incredible happened.
Step by step, she came back.
She walked again.
She regained her independence.
Today, she can even drive.
She beat the odds.
But now, we are facing this battle again.
A recent MRI revealed a new 5mm tumor in the same area of her brain.
The good news is that it was caught early — and doctors say it can be removed.
This gives us something priceless: a real second chance.
Her surgery will take place at Clínica Imbanaco.
We are currently trying to raise $35,000 USD to cover part of this surgery and begin treatment. The total medical expenses are significantly higher, and we are doing everything we can to cover the rest ourselves.
But we can’t do it alone.
We are not giving up.
We are asking for your help to give her another chance at life.
Every donation — no matter how small — truly makes a difference.
And if you’re not able to donate, sharing this story could help us reach someone who can.
Thank you!
