Our beloved co-worker, Cynthia Compton, has to have eye surgery to correct cataracts and an astigmatism. Her medical insurance only covers the cataract surgery. She told the eye surgeon that she has lived with astigmatism her whole life, and that she couldn't afford the price for the additional surgery.
As her work family, we decided that we could contribute, but couldn't afford the whole cost within our small staff. So we thought we would reach out to the whole San Diego Travelers Aid family for help.
Any size contribution will help defray the cost of the additional surgery on each eye. It costs $1,800 for each eye, and can be done along with the cataract surgery. We are asking for $3,600.00 ($1,800 for each eye).
Her surgery is scheduled for mid-September. So as soon as you can donate, we would greatly appreciate your support.
