“She Ate That!” - Short Film
Donazione protetta
Hi my name is Emili Weintraub and I just wrapped shooting my directorial debut “She Ate That!” in March and am raising money for post production and film festivals!
If you support me and donate any amount of money, you will get a special mention in the credits, a link to the finished product, an invite to the premiere, and my eternal gratitude!
This project is important to me because I want to create more Jewish representation that isn’t stereotypical and depressing. People of all backgrounds will be able to relate to my compelling and comedic short film.
Logline:
A 20-something NY Jewish woman realizes the pivotal luncheon for a coveted job falls on Yom Kippur. Will she consume food on the holiest of Jewish holidays (Oy vey!), or risk losing the opportunity?
Synopsis:
She Ate That! follows Devorah, a 20-something NY Jewish woman stuck juggling between what means more to her, her religious values, or an important job opportunity. Devorah is at arms reach of her first ‘big girl’ job, her dream job at Girl Crush Magazine, an award-winning young and hip lifestyle magazine. However, there’s just one hitch - she remembers that the interview lands on Yom Kippur, the holiest Jewish holiday where Jews have to fast for 25 hours; yes, that means NO eating and NO drinking, and have to reflect all day at synagogue on how they can become a better person for the following year. It’s not just any ordinary interview, it’s a luncheon interview. Wait… luncheon… but Devorah can’t eat! Devorah now has to endure a plethora of obstacles set up by Madeline, the wacky and intimidating editor-in-chief of Girl Crush Magazine, with her sidekick Remi while also competing with Tansy, a confident applicant for the same position. Will the pressure of this golden opportunity get to Devorah? Remember, Hashem (God) is watching!
