Shay was her family's strength, heart, and guiding light; she never stopped her fight against cancer, showing friends and family what a true fighter she was until the very end. She was a devoted wife, loving mother of five, grandmother of three, a vibrant animal rescue volunteer, a library enthusiast, an Ovarian cancer advocate, a friend, and a truly wonderful soul who brought warmth, laughter, and kindness to everyone around her. If you had the privilege of knowing Shay, you know what a special person she was.

This fundraiser was created to honor Shay's memory and in support of Laz as he navigates life raising their two young boys, Remy (10) and Rylan (8), without his best friend and loving wife by his side.

In loving memory of Shay Hernandez, who faced life with incredible strength, grace, and humor before passing on June 7th, 2025, at the age of 48.

All proceeds will go directly towards outstanding medical, legal, and memorial expenses, as well as immediate living expenses as Shay's family begins to navigate life without her.
