All my life I wanted to be a mom. Over the years, I've watched my mom pour unconditional love into my sister and i. Even at a young age, I knew that the happiness i had in my life was unmatched. Growing my family turned into my heart's greatest desire. No one could've told me, that this would've been my story, the battle of unexplained infertility. But, here i am.. Here's my journey....

I started my journey to motherhood in Jan 2021. After 4 IUI procedures (intrauterine insemination), I had no success. My doctor also failed to disclose that my ovarian reserve (AMH) was low for my age and time was of the essence. I discussed my concerns with my reproductive endocrinologist and he stated that for most women this process takes longer. In other words, I should pack my patience. This being such an emotional process, I told him I wanted to move forward with IVF, since the success rate is significantly higher. After, a few egg retrievals and no successful embryos, I was thrown into the unexplained infertility category. Instead of suggesting more testing to get to the root causes, they preferred to waste time and money with their cookie cutter protocols. Now, I’m in the process of researching new clinics which includes possibly traveling outside of the DMV area to locate a facility, that will treat me like a person, not just a number and bring viable alternatives to the table. During this arduous process, there has been no compassion! This journey has been both financially and emotionally taxing. As you all know, I'm self-employed and most of my expenses are out of pocket. My circle, which includes my amazing family, friends and clients have been with me through the trenches and continue to keep me encouraged. I thank you all so much for standing with me. As I continue my journey to motherhood, I am asking for your assistance to raise additional funding for IVF related costs, such as, cryopreservation , egg retrievals, prescriptions, preimplantation genetic testing and travel expenses. Any amount you can contribute is extremely appreciated and will bring me one step closer to my dream of becoming a mother. Thank you in advance.
