On March 26, 2018, Greg Rodrigues got down on one knee and asked Shayln Wheeler to start a life together and marry him. Eager for this next chapter in their relationship, she accepted, and together they began plans for their wedding day. Having recently moved in with her boyfriend, now fiancée, Shay and Greg shared dreams for starting a family and building a life together as a couple.
But on April 24, 2018, dreams of happily ever after were ripped away when Greg took his own life.
Charming and charismatic, Greg was known as the life of the party. He was outgoing and lived life to the fullest, but he also went out of his way to make sure others were having a good time and felt taken care of. Greg could always be counted on to put others first, especially his beloved Shay.
Shayln’s whole life has been turned upside down with Greg’s passing. Instead of making plans for a family with the man she saw as her husband, she finds herself forced to start a whole new life from the one she had imagined- a life without Greg. She has had to move out of their home and deal with financial challenges amidst the tragedy and trauma of this loss.
We are asking you to help support Shalyn in any way you can to help her get back on her feet as she navigates through this difficult and emotional time. In lieu of flowers to Shayln and her family, monetary donations are accepted with a sorrowful, but hopeful and grateful heart.
