On Friday morning, tragedy struck and changed a family’s life forever. 21-year-old Shaylee Woods was tragically taken from us in a devastating head-on collision on the Mary Valley Highway near Gympie.

Shaylee was a passenger in a blue Ford Falcon when the unimaginable happened. Despite the best efforts of emergency crews, she sadly passed away at the scene. Two others were seriously injured, including a 17-year-old boy who was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital and a 67-year-old man transported to Gympie Hospital.

Shaylee was not just a name in the news. She was a beautiful, kind-hearted young woman, a much-loved daughter, a cherished sister to the Woods brothers, and a loyal friend to so many. Her smile lit up every room, and her heart was big enough to hold everyone she loved.

This is an unimaginable loss for her family, and while they try to process this heartbreak, the last thing they should have to worry about is financial stress. This fundraiser has been set up to help cover funeral costs and ease the burden on the Woods family during this incredibly difficult time.
