Shay Halvorson's NICU Journey

Joey & Ashley Halvorson were so excited when they found out, after trying over a year to concieve a baby, Ashley was pregnant!! The pregnancy was going great. Her due date was set fpr November 3rd.
July 16, 2015 they had a very scary day. Ashley was airlifted to Sandford Hospital in Fargo as she had gone into labor unknowingly and was completely dilated leaving TRF Hospital. She laid in bed hooked up to IVs and medicine for 4 days until labor couldn't be prolonged any longer. Ashley had a cecerian section July 20th,2015. Shay Ann Halvorson was born at 9:25pm, 1 pound, 13oz & 13.5 inches long. -24 weeks, 6 days-
Shay Ann Halvorson, is absolutely beautiful & her perfect tiny little body just goes to show how much the littlest things can take up the biggest spots of our hearts. Her NICU journey has been a roller coaster of emotions for everyone involved. She has really good days and some scary ones. Shay is breathing mostly on her own now with the help of oxygen from time to time. On day 14 she began to open her eyes!
Ashley is staying in the Ronald McDonald house in Fargo, ND. Joey is driving back and forth from Thief River Falls to Fargo to see Ashley & Shay. Joey tries to make it to work as many days as he can during the week, but things get tough. This was a huge surprise to them as they did not have much in savings this early and the baby room still needs to be remodeled. The family has an amazing support system there for them with their family & friends, however financially they need more help. If you are able, please help to alleviate some of the financial burden, so they can focus on what's most important, baby Shay and their new normal with life in the NICU. Thank you!
