Hello, my name is Shay. I feel awkward asking for help, but I honestly don’t know what else to do right now.

Halfway through April, I was laid off from Lidl after my probation period ended. They decided not to keep me on because of mistakes and my speed at work. As frustrating as it is, I understand businesses have to make decisions like that. My last payment from Lidl was on the 28th of April.

Since then, I’ve been actively looking for work and have applied for 31 jobs so far. I’ve had 3 interviews, but nothing has worked out yet. I’m really stressed about getting through the end of this month.

My mum has cataracts and has been unable to work herself. Normally, when I’m working, I give her around £400–£600 a month towards rent and bills, as she handles most of the household expenses.

Right now, we’re both on Universal Credit. I received my latest statement today, and because of the assessment period between 27th April and 28th May, my Universal Credit payment for June is only £9.

I’m diagnosed with autism, ADHD, and borderline personality disorder, and I find it genuinely difficult to find and keep work. My mum is also currently fighting a sanction from the DWP because she was unable to attend Jobcentre meetings due to her health.

I feel embarrassed even posting this, but I’m honestly scared. I’m trying everything I can to avoid us losing our home while I keep searching for another job.

If anyone is able to help in any way, even just enough to help us get through another month while I continue job hunting, I would be incredibly grateful. Even sharing this means a lot.

I don't really know what to use as the headliner. but this is what the DWP (Department work pension) is due to pay me on the third of june, due to my assessment period between the 28th april and the 27th of may, so since i got my last payment, usually i get £380 from the DWP but that's been deducted from my last payment from lidls at the end of April.

What will the money be used for?

I would just like to give my share of rent to my mum.. to avoid any issues with balifs/warrants and possibly losing my home, as this will cover the rent, the internet, food shopping, other needs, and if need be transportation for job interviews
