Shawn's open heart surgery and recovery

This is Shawn's story.

On February 14th Shawn was booked in for a CT scan in a Saskatoon hospital due to him having heart troubles since mid December. Once the scan was done they were sent home back to Caronport. Once making the 2.5 hour trip home the hospital called and said he needed to be back as fast as possible so another 2.5 hour journey to Saskatoon was made to immediately start him on blood thinners and other meds. The next morning he was flown to Edmonton where he underwent emergency open heart surgery to remove blood clots from his heart and widen the valves. The road to recover is a long one and he is required to be on IV meds every six hours. The hospital does not want to keep him there for the full amount of time he needs these meds. His mom Jennifer is tapped out and him being at home will require $70 to $140 per day in travel costs by a medi van for daily treatments. I have been supporting the family with all I can financially and taking care of Shawn's 4 other siblings while this has been happening as I am Jennifer's fiance and Shawn and his siblings are my future step son. Anything helps at this point and we are very humbled to even have to ask for help as we are both generally the ones to help others before our selves.
