Shawns Fighting for His Life & Needs Our Help

SHORT STORY: Shawn Allaire went to the ER for nausea lasting several days and later that night suffered unexpected cardiac arrest. Shawn is currently at Mass General in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit in a coma and on life support, fighting for his life. Shawn and his family need our help as the last thing they should have to worry about right now is finances. Given the fact there will be considerable medical bills and a prolonged period of no income any amount helps.

LONG STORY: On Monday May 15h Shawn started to experience nausea. After several days Shawn went to Parkland Medical Center to be seen. Parkland felt that it might actually be his appendix, but it wasn't an emergency and he could be admitted and get surgery a day or two later.

That night around 1am Shawn called the nurses so that he could get up to use the bathroom. The nurses unhooked him from his monitors and off he went. 20 or so minutes later the nurses came to check on him where they found him having a seizure and in cardiac arrest on the floor.

He was med flighted from Parkland Medical Center to Portsmouth Hospital where he spent Thursday the 18th fighting for his life in extremely critical condition. At this time his heart was pumping at 1%, his lungs were not working and he was in a coma.

Portsmouth Hospital med flighted Shawn later that day down to Mass General Brigham in Boston where he has been since the evening of Thursday the 18th. Shawn is still on several types of life support in critical condition and fighting for his life.

For anyone who knows Shawn, you know that he is one of the kindest people there is. He has a wife and two young children (Luca 6 years old and Sienna 4 years old).

Anything we can do during this time to help Shawn and his family is greatly appreciated. In addition to the lengthy hospital stays and multiple med flights, Shawn will likely be out of work for an extended period. Alexandra has not left his side and will also likely be out of work for an extended period of time.
