In March of 2017, Shawn Lyke was diagnosed with breast cancer. My beautiful, strong, sister was only 37 years old and was facing a double mastectomy and a very difficult battle ahead of her.

    Shawn is a loving, hardworking, mother of two wonderful boys; Drew who is 10 years old and Dylan, who is 8. Shawn is an amazing mother, sister, daughter, friend, and individual. She is an incredibly giving, motivated, intelligent woman, who I have looked up to my entire life. To try to describe such a beautiful person would fall short of who she is. 
   
   Now, at 39 years old, Shawn was given the devastating news that the cancer has spread throughout her whole body. What had first started in her right breast and what we hoped had become obsolete had spread to most of the bones in her body, making her current diagnosis; Metastatic or stage 4 breast cancer. 

    Just in this last week, Shawn has already had to undergo several body scans, biopsies, surgery, radiation treatment, and will soon have to begin Chemotherapy. This will be a life long battle and she will need routine treatments and lots of support. 

    As everyone knows medical bills are costly and add up very quickly, especially when you’re not able to work and trying to run a household all at the same time. Shawn is a fighter and an incredibly strong woman. If we can make this fight a little bit easier, we’re going to do whatever we can for her and her boys' future.
