We have an exciting announcement!  Friends of the Shawnee National Forest has received a matching grant of $15,000 from New Blankets, Inc and is seeking donations to match, dollar for dollar, this amazing opportunity.  Please join us in our campaign to raise at least $5,000 through crowdfunding by making a donation today. 

A donation of at least $25 will entitle you to a complimentary one year membership to the Friends of the Shawnee National Forest as well as a free t-shirt.  Donor benefits increase from there, including a free Shawnee National Forest map with a donation of at least $50. Please leave your name and email when you donate so that we can send you your membership materials and merchandise.

2017 was the most successful year in our organization’s history. We received, managed, and coordinated a major grant for trail improvements and signage of the River to River trail, hosted a Trash Blast at Panthers Den, and supported multiple educational events such as Fishing Derbies, Arborwild, and Critter Night. 

Friends of the Shawnee National Forest has grown slowly but steadily since 2010 through memberships, grants, fundraising and sale of merchandise.  These efforts have been successful, but are not sufficient to cover the operating expenses required to grow theorganization. The New Blankets matching grant can make that happen.  Securing funding for operating costs will allow our organization to continue our mission while expanding opportunities for growth. 

With a donation you will receive a membership that is representative of your level of giving. Most of all, you will be an active contributor in growing and sustaining the Friends of the Shawnee National Forest, allowing us to continue our mission of supporting stewardship, responsible recreation and environmental education for the Shawnee National Forest.
