I'm Shawnee Badger, a Santa Clarita native and was recently accepted to the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) where I will earn my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. I'm currently an honors student at College of the Canyons, where I've earned an Associate's Degree Cum Laude and graduated with various honors. CalArts is one of the best art schools in the country and I was accepted during their most competitive year of applications. I'm a non-traditional student, which just means that I'm older than most college students. To be able to continue creating art in this community I've dedicated much of my life to would be wonderful. I would like to come out as debt-free as possible and since I have so many supportive friends, I was hoping I'd be able to crowd fund most of the money to be able to pay for my education.
