Help Shawnee Homitz get a Heart Transplant.
Hi, my name is Niki McNally and I'm fundraising for my younger sister.
My sister, Shawnee Homitz, was diagnosed with Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes a month after her 6th birthday. Her diabetes is uncotrolled which has led to many illnesses and hospital stays over the years. When diabetes is uncontrolled it can lead to damaged nerves, blood vessels, and vital organs. On September 18th, Shawnee celebrated her 30th birthday in the hospital. Five days later we were told that she needed a heart transplant. My family and I were devastated. We cried, we prayed, and then we gathered our composure so we could tell my niece that her mommy needs a new heart. Shawnee is a single mother to her beautiful 7 year old daughter, Phoebe. Due to hospital policy Phoebe has only been able to see her mom twice in 5 weeks. They miss each other terribly. Shawnee was unable to work much of the month before being admitted to the hospital due to her severe pain. Now all of her bills are behind. Not to mention the numerous medical expenses she has incurred to this point. Unfortunately, that debt will only continue to grow. My sister and niece mean the world to me and I would do anything for them. So I'm asking anyone who is able to contribute to please donate to my sister's fund. Every dollar helps. The funds will be used to cover the costs of her medical bills and all expenses that arise due to her medical care and her very much needed heart transplant. Funds will also be used so she can continue to help provide for her precious daughter. For anyone who is able to donate, my gratitude is endless. Thank you!
