My sister woke up Thursday morning with chest pain and shortness of breath. Later in the day, she went to the ER where they did an X-ray and found her left lung was fully collapsed. She was taken by ambulance to Hartford Hospital and put on a chest tube.

After 24 hours on the tube, her lung partially collapsed again, and they decided surgery was the best option. She will be in the hospital for this week and will need care when she gets home. My sister and her husband have 3 kids, and her husband is currently out of sick time. My mom and I are trying to help with shifts at the hospital and watching the children.
