Help Cassidy Lay Her Mother to Rest

My friend Cassidy is a vibrant and resilient 19 year old trans woman who has faced more challenges in her short life than most people experience in a lifetime.

Recently, Cassidy's world was shattered when she received the devastating news that her mother (Shawna Le), who lived in another state, tragically passed away due to an accidental drug overdose. Losing a parent is never easy, but the circumstances surrounding her mother's death have left Cassidy reeling with grief and uncertainty. Cassidy has also been unable to properly announce the death of her mother through an obituary or other means due to lack of funds. Her father and her mother have been divorced for nearly a decade, while her father is incredibly transphobic and refuses to give support or help in this time.

To make matters worse, Cassidy has been struggling with housing instability and is currently living in a shelter. She works at the shelter full time doing overnight shifts to maintain a room there and does not have time for another job. The combination of grief, financial strain, and lack of stable housing has made it incredibly difficult for her to cope with this immense loss.

Adding to her distress, Cassidy is also grappling with the urgent need to process her mother's body, which is currently being held by the morgue in California, while she is in Kansas. The unexpected costs associated with funeral arrangements and body processing have placed an additional burden on Cassidy during this already overwhelming time.

That's why I'm turning to the public for help. We're raising funds to support Cassidy in her journey towards stability and healing. Your generous contributions will go towards:
