Shawn is being transplanted as we speak with a second gift of lungs. in the fall of 2020 in the midst of the covid outbreak, Shawn received the first gift of lungs. This first set of lungs was, unfortunately, subject to the misfortune of CMV, CDIFF, and three bouts of pneumonia, the lungs began failing almost immediately. Shawn has been fighting to survive for almost his entire life and at 52 years old he is ready to be free of illness. Two life-changing surgeries, of course, cost twice as much.
