Shawn Siegel Medical Fund

Our beloved Shawn Siegel has been diagnosed with cancer.

Shawn has been experiencing back pain, and on April 6th, the pain became excruciating and he was unable to stand. He was taken to the hospital, where tests revealed a sizable tumor in one of his vertebrae in the thoracic area of his spine. The tumor had grown to the point that it caused the vertebra to basically collapse and Shawn suffered a compression fracture.

On Saturday, April 14th, Shawn underwent a kyphoplasty; a procedure in which they were able to remove some of the tumor and replace it with a cement-like substance to bolster up the vertebra. The procedure was successful and thankfully, has reduced the pain somewhat.

Two complete body bone scans revealed four additional cancerous lesions; two in the vertebrae in the lower back (one on S1, one on S2), one on the femur in right leg, and another in the shin of the left leg.

According to Shawn, the doctors have told him, “The disease is light in me…in that there are only four additional lesions.”

Shawn has undergone a bone marrow biopsy, and results are still pending at this time. With the information currently available, it is uncertain as to what type of cancer he is fighting.  "They can't tell whether it’s multiple myeloma, lymphoma, or leukemia, and it could be a combination of all three."

Treatment so far has been concentrated on the one very severely affected vertebra in his thoracic spine. According to the doctors, this is "a serious pathological situation in a single vertebra that needed to be addressed immediately and needs continual treatment, beginning As Soon As Possible."  However, they require $10,000 up front before treatment can be initiated.

There was just enough left of the vertebral wall to allow them to do the kyphoplasty on Saturday.  As noted above, the procedure was successful; however, there is still significant cancerous tumor inside the vertebra, with pathology protruding outside of the vertebra, threatening the spinal cord. This is the first thing that needs to be addressed, with the plan being to begin an aggressive treatment of targeted radiation. After this first treatment protocol, and pending further results indicating the exact type or combination of cancers, additional treatment options will be discussed and Shawn will then make the best decisions, after gathering all of the necessary information.

At this point, he has been hospitalized for ten days, with a great deal of tests and procedures. Shawn does have insurance, which will cover 80 percent, leaving him responsible for the balance of the hospital bill. At this point, our immediate goal is to raise the $10,000 as quickly as possible, so Shawn can receive the treatment he needs to preserve the integrity of his spinal cord, and therefore, the integrity of his mobility.

For those who may not know Shawn Siegel, he is a precious treasure. Shawn is one of the most active and consistent advocates for truth on the planet. He started researching about vaccines and posting on Facebook nine years ago. In addition to being a continuous presence on Facebook, through his own page and as an Admin for the group "Great Mothers Questioning Vaccines," Shawn is the host of the weekly radio program, "The Vaccine Myth: An Issue of Trust," which he began nearly six years ago.  During the program's tenure, Shawn has interviewed countless numbers of doctors, researchers, activists, and parents whose children have been injured or killed by vaccines. Shawn lives a very modest life, and has never received a dime for his tireless efforts at spreading the truth and protecting children from harm. There is no way to even estimate the number of parents he has helped to educate, or the number of babies and children he has saved. He is the truth in media we are missing. We can't lose his voice.
