Shawn Laurenceau’s Homegoing Service

It is with unbearable sadness that we are sharing the news of Shawn Laurenceau’s untimely passing on February 8, 2021.

To know Shawn was to love him. His smile was infectious. He was truly one of a kind. If you had the pleasure of meeting Shawn, of crossing paths with him on his short time here with us, I’m certain he’s left an indelible mark on your life.

As he has mine. 

He was charming like that.. charismatic, funny, intelligent, and unassuming. He’d make you feel like you’d known him for years. He had a way of showing you the best parts of yourself, skills you didn’t know you possessed, courage you didn’t know you had.

And the wit, honey! The wit was unmatched. He could hold an intelligent conversation with anyone about anything. He was cultured and classy. He slacked with nothing. If you knew Shawn, you know all of this to be true. Whether you knew him in real life, or virtually through his unmistakable online presence. He was a force.

Shawn was a loving son, a loyal brother, doting grandson, favorite cousin, respected colleague, and the very best friend any of us could ever ask for. We’re all devastated by his loss; he will be dearly missed. 

Shawn was 33 and lived in Brooklyn, New York at the time of his passing. He attended Dickinson College in Pennsylvania after high school and transferred to St. John’s in Queens, New York to finish out the remainder of his studies. He enjoyed a successful career in tech sales and really had an affinity for engaging people.  

On behalf of Shawn’s family, we are humbly collecting funds to help pay for funeral and burial expenses. As one can imagine, the onset of these unexpected costs are both financially and emotionally fatiguing during a time meant for mourning and celebration of his life. 

We simply ask those kind and gracious enough to donate, that you give what you can, and spread the word if you're able.

Please keep his loved ones lifted in prayer.

Thank you all so very much for your support and contributions. We have managed to reach our goal and your kind donations will be used to help cover Shawn's funeral and burial services this Friday, February 26th.

We know this is a difficult time for everyone but we greatly appreciate your time, assistance and kindness. We all loved Shawn and there is no doubt he would be just as thankful to you.
