As many of our loved ones know our dad has been on a heart breaking journey the past months has he navigated his battle with cancer.
Shawn Franklin is an amazing, strong, loving father and husband. He was diagnosed with stage four esophagus cancer around six months ago. Through this entire battle he has handled all treatments and struggles with such amazing strength and grace. While through this battle we were extremely lucky to see him have a few weeks to experience the joy of food, friends, family, and adventure again, our family was given heartbreaking news Monday. Though he has fought extremely hard unfortunately the cancer was to advanced to win this battle. The next goal for the family is to keep him comfortable while spending as much time as we can with him.
Our hopes are to help relieve some stress and give our dad and Kathy the support they need while we finish the journey we are on. The family is forever grateful for the support of those that have offered prayers, love and comfort. In addition, people have been asking for ways they can help. We feel this is the best way for people to contribute in the ways they have been asking.
We cannot express how much all of you mean to not only us but our dad, step mom and the rest of the family.
