Shawn Dougherty - Maui Fire - Medical- Housing

Hi my name is Shelise and my brother-in-law Shawn Dougherty lives in Lahaina, Hawaii. As everyone has seen the entire city has burned down. Shawn had to run out in the middle of the night, into the Ocean to survive. He has severe 2nd degree burns on both of his feet and is only able to get around in a wheelchair and will need treatment for a very long time. Shawn’s line of work is where he would be standing 10 to 12 hours at a time on his feet, so even when there are jobs available hopefully on another island but we have no way of knowing when he will even be able to stand or walk. At the moment he is in a shelter and has no home and no job as you can imagine with this size of tragedy. At this time we don’t know what the future holds and we are hoping to raise money for his medical , housing, used vehicle to hopefully get him relocated to another island to start over. Like all the others he left with the clothes on his back and has nothing left. He is using as many resources as he can such as the VA due to the fact that he is a Marine Veteran. Red Cross is there and they are handling the shelters but that will be temporary. We know that not just 1 entity will be able to help everyone, that is why I am creating this so I can try to help my family and maybe it will also be able to help others.
