Picture a little kid opening up a present on Christmas morning and being so excited because it was the one thing he has been asking for all year. That was Shawn when he rode his motorcycle for the very first time. He was proud. He was fierce. He was powerful. All his hard work had paid off. He did it. He bought his very first bike.
He couldn’t wait to get it home and look it over. And that he did for weeks. Admiring it. Cleaning it. Tinkering on stuff that didn’t need to be fixed just because he could. He rode that bike everywhere. And the most important thing to him was being able to ride next to his brother. His little brother who he looked up to and admired. The two of them, a force to be reckoned with. They weren’t able to ride much with full time jobs, households, and raising kids. But when they did he always got super excited and giddy and a smile that lit up his face.
All those things came to a devastating halt Friday November 6th. Not 10 mins after they left Shawn got into a severe accident. Who know traffic lights changed the fast? He didn’t have time to stop or slow down. With sparing you every little detail I will tell you it didn’t end well.
GRATEFUL IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT. He’s alive and that Is the most important thing to all of us. He has some very serious injuries. Three out of 4 limbs are either fractured or shattered. Emergency surgery on two of them. His neck is fractured as well. Cuts, scrapes, and bruises all over his body.
With all of that being said, here’s where we ask for your help. Which in itself is a very difficult task. We are hardworking and independent adults. He is going to be out of work for some time. And I have taken some time off to be his caretaker. With the 5 day hospital stay, follow up appointments, possibly another hand surgery, day to day activities and bills I worry we will not be able to do it. Anything helps him get back on his feet, providing for his family, and playing with his kids. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Please donate.
PRAYERS ARE WELCOMED AS WELL.
